  • Rest & Resilience Retreat is a nonprofit organization that provides fully funded wellness retreats for first responders. Our retreats are designed to offer rest, connection, and intentional time away in a supportive, judgment-free environment.

  • Our retreats are open to active and retired first responders, including:

    • Law Enforcement

    • Firefighters

    • EMS / Paramedics

    • Dispatchers

    • Corrections

    • Other public safety professionals

    Some retreats may also include spouses or partners, and/or families, depending on the retreat weekend.

  • Retreats are hosted at a 30+acre property in the Cumberland, Wisconsin area, surrounded by nature and quiet spaces intended to support rest, reflection, and reconnection.

  • Fully funded means participants do not pay to attend. Lodging, meals, activities, and scheduled programming are covered through donations, sponsorships, and community partnerships. Participants will need to transport themselves to and from the retreat.

  • Most retreats are Friday through Sunday. Participants typically arrive Friday afternoon and depart Sunday late morning or early afternoon.

  • Activities vary by retreat but may include:

    • Yoga or light movement

    • Guided reflection or journaling

    • Outdoor or nature-based/lake activities

    • Group connection activities

    • Downtime for rest and relaxation

    Participation is always optional. There is no pressure to share, perform, or engage beyond your comfort level.

  • No. Rest & Resilience Retreats are not clinical therapy and do not replace mental health treatment. Our retreats focus on rest, connection, and wellness in a supportive setting. Participants are encouraged to continue any professional care they are already receiving.

  • We intentionally keep retreats small to create a calm, personal environment. Most retreats host 4–8 participants.

  • No. Rest & Resilience Retreats are non-religious and non-denominational. Participants of all backgrounds, beliefs, and identities are welcome.

  • Yes. We take confidentiality seriously. What is shared during a retreat stays within the group, and participant information is never shared publicly without consent.

  • Participants complete an application that helps us understand their readiness, availability, and fit for the retreat. Our goal is to ensure a safe, supportive experience for everyone attending.

  • Not at all. Some participants come feeling overwhelmed; others come simply needing rest. You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from a retreat.

  • Due to limited space and high demand, priority is typically given to first-time participants. Returning participation may be considered, subject to capacity.

  • We are supported through:

    • Individual donations

    • Business sponsorships

    • Community partnerships

    • Grants and fundraising efforts

    • All support goes directly toward making retreats accessible to first responders.

  • Yes. Rest & Resilience Retreat is a registered nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status pending. Donors will receive appropriate documentation once the status is finalized.
